AQUATICS: STUDENT JOB OPPORTUNITIES
The Aquatics Department offers FSU students a number of aquatic positions. These include lifeguard, head lifeguard, swim instructor, aquatic fitness instructor, and aquatic supervisor. Students who apply for any of the positions must have current certifications. Once hired by the Aquatics Department, all employees' certifications will be maintained at no cost to the student.

Students selected for any of the listed positions will join a professional staff of lifeguards. Joining the FSU lifeguard team is a great way to maintain your skills, meet new people, earn money, and have fun. Students who are interested in applying for a position should pick up an application at the Leach Pool. The application should be completed with attached copies of certifications and returned to the Aquatics Director. The Aquatics Department hires every semester.

Lifeguard

Lifeguards, ops position, 10-20 hours per week, Current Red Cross lifeguard training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator and Oxygen Administration certifications required. Good skills, attitude and customer service required. Varied hours.
Wage: $6.00- $7.00 per hour.

Swim Lesson Instructor
Currently certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. Responsible for teaching the Children and Adult swim lessons under the direction of the Program Supervisor and Aquatic Director. Varied hours.
Wage: $7.00 - $8.00 per hour.

Lifeguard Instructor
Currently certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor. Responsible for teaching all components of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training program (First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Oxygen Administration). Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor and Aquatic Director. Varied hours.
Wage: $7.00 - $8.00 per hour.

Water Aerobics Instructor
Currently certified Aquatic Fitness Instructor (specializing in Water Aerobics) or other nationally recognized certifications; works under the direction of the Program Supervisor and Aquatic Director. Varied hours.
Wage: $8.00 - $9.00 per hour.

Head Lifeguard
The Head Lifeguard must have the following certifications: Red Cross Lifeguard Training, Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid, Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor (including AED's), Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (optional). This position is promoted from within the Aquatic Staff. In addition, the Head lifeguard supervises the guard staff under the direction of the Facility Supervisor and the Aquatic Director. The Head Lifeguard will work 20 hours per week.
Wage: $7.50 - $8.50 per hour.

Aquatic Supervisor 1

Assists the Aquatic Director with the daily operations of all Aquatic Facilities and supervises Head Lifeguard and lifeguards. Required certifications: Red Cross Lifeguard Training, Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid, Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor (including AED), and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. Will work 10-20 hours per week.
Wage: $8.00 - $9.00 per hour.

Aquatic Supervisor 2
Assists the Aquatic Director with the development, promotion and implementation of all Aquatic Programs and supervises all program instructors. Required certifications: Red Cross Lifeguard Training, Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid, Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor (including AED), and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. Will work 10-20 hours per week.
Wage: $8.00 - $9.00 per hour.
