Other Notes
The Equestrian Club competes in hunt seat, western pleasure, and dressage with a show season lasting from mid-September through the end of April. Hunt seat and western will have about 10 shows a year, and the dressage team will have about 4. The teams travel to other schools for competitions from as far south as the University of Miami to as far north as the College of Charleston. Regional and National level competitions vary in location. Shows are always on the weekends and can be either one or two days long. Riders are not expected to own their own horses and must compete on schooling horses. Weekly lessons with team trainers are required for competitive riders. Non-competitive club members may ride at their leisure.
