LEADERS IN TRAINING INFORMATION

Camp Flastacowo's Leaders in Training (LIT) program is located at the FSU Reservation, a 73-acre waterfront facility located on beautiful Lake Bradford. The program is open only to youths who are both entering the 9th grade and 13 to 16 years old. The camp offers four two-week sessions of leadership training.  Campers must be be able to attend both weeks. There is a limit of 6 LITs per camp session.

2010 Session Dates
Session 1 June 6-10, June 13-17
Session 2 June 20-24, June 27-July 1
NO CAMP July 4-8
Session 3 July 11-15, July 18-22
Session 4 July 25-29, August 1-5


Staff
The LIT Program is operated by staff members of FSU's Campus Recreation department. All personnel are trained in CPR, First Aid, and emergency procedures. Each staff member has completed an intensive 40-hour camp inservice and have passed a background check. Certified lifeguards and other support staff supervise all waterfront activities.

LIT Requirements
Interested participants must complete and submit Leaders in Training Application (completed by camper) , Leaders in Training Registration Form (completed by parent) prior to your interview date. Summer 2011 LIT phone interview dates are April 24th and April 25th – Get your applications in soon!


LIT Applications
If mailing the LIT Application, Registration form and Informed Consent Form , the Informed Consent Form must be notarized.

When to Register
General registration for all campers begins Monday, March 1, 2011.

Registration Fees
$200.00 (includes tax) per session.  Payments are non-refundable.  Full refunds will be given only for medical reasons documented by a physician. Documentation must be submitted by August 5, 2011.  Payment is due upon acceptance into the LIT program, after the interview process.

LIT selections will be announced by May 2 .  Upon notification of acceptance, payment will then be due.

Checks may then be made payable to Florida State University, with camper name and session dates in the memo section.  Please mail to 3226 Flastacowo Road, Tallahassee, FL 32310.
