LEACH CENTER: STUDENT JOB OPPORTUNITIES
The Leach Center hires students each semester as front desk assistants, fitness instructors, and group exercise leaders. Below is a description of facility-related job opportunties. Link to the Fitness section for information on fitness-related jobs.

Building Supervisor
The Leach Center Building Supervisor is employed to ensure the safe and efficient use and operation of the facility in the absence of full-time staff. In addition, the Building Supervisor is employed to provide any other assigned duties.
Qualifications
American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification required. Preference will be given to full-time FSU students and to students with leadership skills and experience. Must have excellent customer service skills and positive attitude in serving students and other members.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all details surrounding the day-to-day operations of the Leach Center including:
Opening and closing the facility, complying with university cash handling procedures, monitoring and supervising entire facility during evening and weekend operating hours, ensuring that all participants follow operating and use policies, ensuring that a safe and equitable environment exists at all times for all participants, supervising and managing student personnel, facilitating conflict resolution with customer problems and complaints, reporting of accidents, injuries, and emergency situations, recording and reporting all incidents, overseeing preparation and clean-up for special events and other specific programming, reporting and/or recording definite or potential hazards and unsafe conditions to the facility coordinators, being responsible to current policy revision, and peforming other duties as assigned.
Wage: $8.50 per hour.
Hours: 10-20 per week.

Front Desk Assistants (Equipment/Control Desk Member Assistants)

The Leach Center Front Desk Assistants is employed to ensure authorized access, use, and rental of lease equipment available to patrons of the facility. In addition, the Front Desk Assistant is employed to provide any other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Standard First Aid and CPR is preferred. Preference will be given to full-time FSU students. Must have excellent customer service skills and positive attitude in serving students and other members.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all details surrounding access control, rental equipment use and control, locker renewals, memberships, racquet sports reservations by checking the valid use eligibility of patrons. May be asked to assist with special programs, events, and any other duties necessary for quality services. Specific duties include:
Checking valid use eligibility of all who enter the facility, acting as first line staff in the facilitation of resolving customer concerns, recording and scheduling all racquet sport court reservations, checking out/in equipment available for the convenience of the patrons, cleaning, inspecting, and ensuring that all equipment is ready for checkout, reporting any broken or damaged equipment to the facility coordinator, ensuring that a fresh supply of clean towels is readily available, being proficient in all building policies and procedures, controlling building sound and paging system, implementing the university cash handling procedures, recording and collecting fees, keeping track of attendance, providing accurate information and answering questions regarding hours of operation, classes, programming, and policies, and performing other duties as assigned.
Wage: $6.79 per hour.
Hours: 10-20 per week - morning, midday, afternoon, and evening shifts.

Basketball Court Supervisor
The Leach Center Basketball Supervisor is employed to ensure the safe and equitable use of the multipurpose areas of the facility. In addition, the Basketball Supervisor is employed to provide any other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Standard First Aid and CPR is preferred. Preference will be given to full-time FSU students and to students with leadership skills and experience. Must have excellent customer service skills and positive attitude in serving students and other members.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all details surrounding the day-to-day supervision and operations of the multipurpose gymnasium within the Leach Center and Tully Gym facility. Duties include:
Remaining up-to-date on all specific multipurpose use and general facility use policies, reporting and recording all basketball games and policy violations, documenting all emergency and injuring-resulting situations, documenting all incidents, ensuring that a safe and equitable environment exists at all times for all participants, facilitating conflict resolution with participant problems and complaints, interacting with participants in a friendly and courteous manner, and performing duties as directed or assigned by the facility coordinators.
Wage: $6.79 per hour.
Hours: Weekday shifts, typically between 3:30 pm and 9:00 pm.

Leach calls for and accepts applications approximately 1 month prior to the end of each semester. Information is posted inside the Leach Center and online at the Leach Center web site. Students can pick up applications at the Leach Admin office, Room 210 (third floor of the Leach Center) from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during the application period.
