Format & Rules |
| Hitters & Pitchers |
Each hitter must bring
their own pitcher. Pitchers must also be FSU students, faculty or
staff. Both the hitter and pitcher will sign-in at the event site.
FSUCard required for both players. |
| Equipment |
Regulation 12" softballs
will be used, supplied by IM Sports.
Bats must meet ASA Softball requirements. Select bats are available
for check-out from the IM Staff at the Complex. |
| Fences |
Qualifying rounds will
be played with 275 foot fences.
Final rounds will use the fence distances of the Seminole Softball
Complex. |
| Pitching |
Pitches must be delivered
according to ASA Softball rules. Slow-pitch delivery is required.
Pitches deemed illegal by the umpire will still count in the total
number of allowed pitches for the batter (i.e. swing at every pitch). |
| Number of Pitches |
Each hitter will receive 15 total
pitches from their pitcher. All pitches (good or bad, swung at or
taken) will count towards the 15 pitch total. Therefore, it is advisable
to swing at every pitch. |
| Qualifying |
The top 20 hitters will qualify for
Final Round. Hitters must remain the same, but the pitcher may change
for the Final Round. |
| Team Score |
Team scores are based total number
of home runs hit by the team's two hitters. For hitters that qualify
for the Final Round, only that hitters best score (regardless of
round) will count towards the team score. |
