Registration information including available leagues, registration periods,
and captains meetings for each IM sport is made available in the Intramural
Sports Office in Tully 136 and online at the Florida State IM Sports Web
Site (fsu.campusrec.com/im)
approximately 2 months prior to the beginning of each semester. Registration
announcements are also published in the Campus Rec Update section of the
FSView / Florida Flambeau newspaper available free to students
around campus.
Interested persons can register for individual and dual sports by stopping
by the Intramural Sports Office and filling out a registration form which
includes league preference and day availability. Registration for select
sports is also available online. Registration for team sports is done on
a first-come, first-serve basis. Team captains should stop by the IM Sports
Office to select a time for their team to play. Leagues are structured so
that each team plays one game per week at the same time on the same night
each week during the regular season (for example, Tuesdays at 8:00 in the
Men's A League). Teams rotate opponents each week in the same time slot
through the regular season. Popular time periods fill quickly, therefore
teams are encouraged to sign up early in the registration period. All time
slots must be filled by teams in a particular league before additional time
periods (usually late night or late afternoon) will be made available for
registration.
In addition to registering their team for a time period, team captains must
also attend scheduled captains meetings, generally held in Student Life
Building a week prior to the start of the regular season, to review IM rules
and regulations and complete a captain's card to finalize their registration
(Team rosters are no longer required). Teams which fail to have
a captain or representative attend this meeting will be dropped from the
schedule and be replaced with teams on the waiting list.
