KID'S LESSONS: DESCRIPTIONS
Which class is best for you and your child? Here's what FSU Aquatics has to offer.
LEVEL I: Water Exploration
Hold breath and fully submerge face for 3 seconds; bob to chin level with support 10 times; supported float on front and back; bubble blowing; supported kicking no front and back; alternating arm action; learn basic water safety rules and wear lifejacket in shallow water.

LEVEL II: Stroke Readiness
Hold breath, fully submerged for 3 seconds; Retrieve objects in chest depth water; Unsupported float on tummy for 5 seconds and on back for 5 seconds; Bob 10 times; Jump into chest depth water and recover to vertical position; Get out at side of pool; Flutter kick on front and back; Back crawl arm action; swim on tummy 5 yards and back 5 yards; turning over front to back and back to front; put oAugust 23, 2010er.

LEVEL III: Stroke Readiness
15 Bobs; Jump into deep water; Kneeling Dive; 10 yards Freestyle; 10 yards Backstroke; 10 yards Elementary Backstroke kick; reverse directions on front; reverse directions on back; tread water; HELP position; rescue breathing.

LEVEL IV: Stroke Development
Deep-water bobbing; rotary breathing; Dive; 10 yards Elementary Back Stroke; 25 yards Freestyle; 25 yards Backstroke; 10 yards Breaststroke kick; 10 yards Sidestroke kick; open turns; Tread water 2 minutes; survival float; rescue breathing & CPR.

LEVEL V: Stroke Refinement
Rotary breathing; stride jump; long shallow dive; 10 yards Breaststroke; 10 yards Sidestroke; 5 yards underwater; 25 yards Elementary backstroke; 10 yards Butterfly kick; 50 yards Freestyle; 50 yards Backstroke; recognize spinal injuries; Feet-first surface dive; Tread water 2 minutes with 2 different kicks.

LEVEL VI: Skill Proficiency
100 yards Freestyle with turns; 100 Backstroke with turns; 25 yards Breaststroke; 25 yards Sidestroke; 10 yards Butterfly; Breaststroke & Sidestroke turns; Front flip turn; Pike & tuck surface dive; Tread water 3 minutes 1 minute no hands; Roll spinal injury victims.

Adult
This is designed for beginner and intermediate level adults who want to learn to swim. Skills include an introduction to the 5 basic strokes. The program will assist in enjoying swimming as a recreational and fitness activity.
