Hometown: Holiday, Florida and Moser Bay on Kodiak Island, Alaska Update Last we heard Eric is living in Boulder, CO..." Living the Dream!" |

Hometown: T-Town Favorite outdoors trip I've been on and why: I like them all for different reasons. I like some for the scenery, some for the people, some for the quiet, and some for the craziness. Why I'm apart of FSU Outdoor Pursuits: I get to watch the doors open for others to enjoy the art of chillin in the outdoors and experiencing things they wouldn’t on a daily basis. I get to see on a daily basis how small I am in comparison to the big scheme of things. The other stuff I do here at FSU: I get facilitate out as the Challenge Course where I get to watch light bulbs turn on and folks have a blast at they work together to conquer the craziness we through at them. I also work at the rock wall out at the beautiful Seminole Reservation. Academic interests: I am a grad student at FSU studying Recreation and Leisure Services Administration. I am also interested in leadership and experiential education for kiddos. AND Coffee shop owning! |
Hometown: Miami, Florida Favorite outdoors trip I've been on and why: My favorite outdoor trip was from May 2002 till December 2002, that 8-month period was one giant "outdoor trip" that spanned across the Southwest and involved backpacking in New Mexico, mountaineering in Colorado, mountain biking in NM, AZ UT, rafting on the Colorado River, and hiking in the Grand Canyon. Piece of gear I can't live without: Head lamp. Why I'm apart of FSU Outdoor Pursuits: I am a part of Outdoor Pursuits because I want to share my experiences and knowledge with the staff of O.P. and student participants on O.P. trips. The other stuff I do here at FSU: FSU Cycling Club Academic interests: Environmental Studies, the American Southwest. Update HAWAII, BRA!? |
Jason David Hometown: ATL by way of Orlando, Florida Favorite outdoors trip I've been on and why: That would have to be the Pinhoti Trail in Fall ’07. It was the first trip I ever led and it couldn’t have gone better. On my own time? I went to do some hiking on the Appalachian Trail with my cousin that I hadn’t spent time with since we were kids. We had a blast getting stranded on the summit of Blood Mountain during a 24-hour rain storm and deciding to run down to the local store in the middle of it. It was my first time on the A.T. and I’ll never forget it. Why I'm apart of FSU Outdoor Pursuits: Originally I came to OP to spend more time going on trips. Seeing new places and not having to pay for the gas sounded like an awesome deal, and if I had to lead a bunch of strangers into the wilderness to do it, that was alright by me. It was after my first trip that I realized that what I loved even more than visiting these amazing natural places was meeting new people in such a unique situation. You’ll get to know people so well and so fast because you have to come together, and by the end of the trip you’ve made some serious memories with people you didn’t even know two days before. Academic Interests: I’m an Anthropology major in my 3rd year, which basically means I watched Indiana Jones way too many times when I was a kid. And while I don’t take courses in fighting Nazis or running from giant boulders, I still really love what I’m learning and can’t get enough. The other stuff I do here at FSU: When I’m not leading trips for OP you can probably find me attached to the end of a rope at the REZ’s outdoor Rock Wall. We always want people to climb so you should definitely come out! |
Andrew Anderson The other stuff I do here at FSU: When I am not studying and trying to better my beloved program thru the spreading of propaganda...I like to garden. |
Home town: Delray Beach, Florida Favorite Outdoor trip and why: I went to Alaska and backpacked into the Talkeetna Mountains and white water rafted out. After backpacking, I sea kayaked in the Prince William Sound for a few weeks. It loved this trip because it was my first big adventure trip and Alaska is absolutely beautiful. Why I am a part of OP: I am a part of OP because I love to be outside and Outdoor Pursuits let’s me get out. I can take a break from my normal routine and just relax in the great outdoors! Other stuff at FSU: I am a Nursing major and I live in the nursing living and learning community in Wildwood. |

It has given me an amazing opportunity to experience the outdoors and share my love of nature with others in my community. The other stuff I do here at FSU: Gear Manager for OP for Fall semester of 2010, I am the drummer in three local bands, and you can see me cruising around town on my yellow 1970's steel framed bicycle. Academic interests: Double majoring in Environmental Studies and Geography and I am a huge fan of map making. |

Hometown: Tallahasee, FL Favorite outdoors trip I've been on and why: I can't pick just one. Each one is so different and awesome, from wild horses on Cumberland Island to climbing up a waterfall at Foster falls to jumping off a cliff at Torrey Pines to paraglide around. You never know whats going to happen on a trip but you always come away with a great story. Why I'm a part of FSU Outdoor Pursuits: I love that I get to work outside most of the time, I mean I plan outdoor adventure trips for a job. I only plan things that I myself want to lead and I like to share these amazing places with people that sometimes wouldn't normally get to have that kind of experience. I'm also learning constantly from my coworkers who are all just as obsessed with the outdoors I am. It can't get any better! The other stuff I do here at FSU: I've been coming to the Rez's summer camp since I was 8 then went on to be an LIT and then a camp counselor for 2 summers. I'm also a challenge course facilitator and lead groups in team building activities at the Rez. As you can see I kinda like the Rez a lot. I also recently joined the FSU Circus! Academic interests: I'm majoring in Elementary School Education and hope to be an elementary school teacher. |
Hometown: Coconut Grove, FL Favorite outdoors trip I've been on and why: Spring Break Climbing Trip to Texas and Arizona, because it was my first major road trip and my first chance to sport climb. It was the first time I'd ever fully adventured out West. Why I'm a part of FSU Outdoor Pursuits: To have as much fun a s possible while showing others the wonders of our natural world The other stuff I do here at FSU: I am a member of FSU's Rock Climbing Club and I work with other aspects of the FSU Reservation like the Rock Wall and Challenge Program Academic interests: Outdoor Recreation, Experiential/Adventure Education, Wilderness Medicine, and Interpersonal Communication |
